GROW Externships
GROW is a not-for-profit incubator that works to connect underrepresented rising professionals with paid externships in the environmental field. The Sludge Hub has partnered with GROW to host these budding environmentalists and provide them with hands-on experience in the heart of coal country.

Externship programs like these have been implemented to engage passionate environmentalists who support the Sludge Hub's efforts to mitigating the lasting impacts of the departed coal industry, and what can be done to minimize their long-term consequences in the local ecosystem. Externs with The Sludge Hub work directly on abandoned mines and prioritize ecosystem management and remediation during their program.
